The combination of being somewhat expensive plus most players not fully understanding the shift mechanic lead to many underrating this card-advantage powerhouse
It's nowhere near as powerful as the Masticore, but it only costs #7 Skullclamp - Bronze Age Bonesplitter is always great, but the surprise gem of the deck is Skullclamp Skullclamp may have the distinction of being the only card that by getting worse turned itself from a solid card into a breaker of formats
The card draw alone is enough reason to play this card, but in any control shell, you can make that second ability not even a downside and eventually win off the first ability
It only grabs artifact creatures, but a 5-mana 3/3 flier plus a limited Fabricate sounds like a decent deal to me
Then you can draw for casts, like the Verduran Enchantress so you draw even if countered, save for Soul of the Harvest which is an ETB trigger for nontokens
